I had my first "tele doc" appointment" with my doctor that I've been seeing for 19 years. (i'm not looking for a new doctor, he's a good man).. But he asked if I had a smart phone...Answer "no" If you're grandpa asked for a suggestion and wasn't technology savvy at all, which one would you suggest? We had a good appointment and talked more than 40 minutes.. He's actually a little older than I am.
He did say it would be better if he could "see" me. But was fine with my not having one. If I live another 10 years, which is at least possible, a smartphone is going to be like having "toilet paper".. Not really because of the HUGE profit margin, but in reality, which I hate to admit may be "life or death" at some point.

you could get an ipad or tablet. Teledoc is an app you can add to a tablet just as easily as a phone, and you might get some added benefits from it that you wouldn't get from phone.

Maybe look at an older i-phone and get service through T-Mobile (very good rate for seniors)?

Many things are becoming more digital and having access to certain apps and text messaging features will help ya out.

You just need to find a "kid" to teach you how to use certain things.

Get the cheapest smartphone or tablet you can with the service you choose. TMobile just merged with sprint and are giving away Samsung Galaxy tablets for a 2yr commitment. Ive been using them with same Moto z2 phone for years. Don't buy an iPhone...if you've never dealt in iWorld now is not the time to start

You should look at Cricket wireless. A year ago i needed a new phone. My old one died. i only text and talk on my phone. Cricket gave me a free Motorola moto smart phone with no contract for $30 a month all taxes and fees included. Great phone and service for me.

negative on the Moto's is depending on the model (i have Z2 Force) Motorola has stopped supporting and updating most of them.

if OP is looking at a Moto make sure it's something they are still updating. Certainly anything you can get free with no contract deserves a look

I don’t have an iPhone wish I did only because my wife and adolescents have them and figured my chargers and so on would always be missing. Got a google phone. Apple has some of the strictest policies on sharing personal info unlike my google .

Ive had a bunch of different phones but the iPhone 11 pro is the best but for much cheaper you could get one of the google phones - someone also said go to cricket - cricket is the same exact service as ATT - there is no charges for any calls in Canada or Mexico - it's $40 per month unlimited - u cannot beat it - if u travel a lot though Cricket sucks
